Who I am

I would prefer to be called Swirly (derived from my username, of course).

Before you ask, no, I can't remember how I got my username.

I'm a simple femboy that is also a catboy. I commonly compose music for older systems (NES and such) and do some casual gaming, but I also tend to mess with more recent technology (Wii U and such).

Contact

  1. I prefer to be contacted over either XMPP (swirlystone5877@disroot.org) or AOL Instant Messenger (swirlystone5877) [see the AIM section in Pidgin or use AIM 5 with WINE]
  2. You can also email me but replies may be slow, as I don't check it often. The same goes for the talk page.
  3. As a last resort, you may message me on Discord (@swirlystone5877).

What I run

I own a few computers, but most of them are either not mine or dead. The one that is mine and not dead (yet) is a Mac Mini from late 2012. Obviously, it was upgraded, as things were a bit rough with 4GB ram. At the moment, it uses a 256GB SSD (that managed to kill everything once), 16GB of RAM, and a 8-core Intel i7-3615QM (8) @ 3.30 GHz. It runs Arch Linux (duh) with KDE Plasma as my desktop environment and Alacritty as my terminal. ...Unfortunately, because Apple likes their computers quiet, mine runs so hot I have to use a script on startup to put the built-in fan past it's max RPM to stop it from reaching 100°. Yes, I know, I'll replace the paste soon.

The dead computers I own are both from 2014; a cheap Lenovo AIO (put simply, PC and monitor in one case; 4GB RAM, Intel Pentium) and a weird budget laptop (4GB RAM, quad-core Intel i3).

The Lenovo AIO had it's hard drive implode (not literally), and I don't have any replacements on hand. It's being used as a monitor for the Mac Mini now.

The budget laptop is too crappy to actually be usable. But just for laughs, I decided to install Windows 7 and use it for a bit. It's not bad, but it could be a little more usable if it were more powerful.

The one I don't own is actually decent and modern, boasting a Intel i5-1135G7 @ 2.4Ghz and 8GB RAM, plus a good iGPU for once (Intel Iris Xe family). ...Unfortunately, it's been banished to run Windows until actual owner gets a better one (probably in a long while) and it is deemed mine.
